What is FTC

FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming.

Some common questions that we are asked, go through them to get a better understanding of how this competition will work

Who can Participate/ Join the Team?

Anyone who’s of Age between 12-18 and is a native citizen of India is eligible to join the team.

Whom are we looking for?

We’re looking for people who’re passionate about STEM and understands’ it’s true value. Even if you’ve great skills and calibre, but lack passion and enthusiasm, we recommend you not to fill out the forms. A Person with No skills but great passion is what we’re looking up for.

What is the Role of The Next Generation?

From Making your Team a Balanced one to Provide Training, Guiding you wherever you’re stuck is what would be our role, but again it’d be the team’s efforts that’d pay off at the end so it has to be from your side.

Who all are applicable for Scholarships?

We at The Next Generation highly support those who support themselves and have bought themselves here, Scholarships are only available to those who are exceptionally good at any skill they possess and are really in need for it.

What are the Criteria’s for Scholarship?

The Candidate must be extraordinary at any of the skills that define them, they should possess leadership quality and ability to handle a team.

Does any of our School Grades Matter?

No, we do not want any of your school grades to be submitted, that being said, it’s your personality and your skills that we’re looking up for.

What’s the total worth of scholarships available?

The Total Amount of Rs 1.35 Lakhs has been declared for the scholarships of FTC by The Next Generation Foundation for the Year 2020-21.

What’s the cost of the whole Program?

The Total Cost for the Program is Rs 66,700/- per member.

What all does the cost include?

Here’s the list of things that have been included in the cost of the Program:

  1. Training for the competition.
  2. Registration cost for the Event.
  3. Kit and all the necessary parts for the competition.
  4. Travel and accommodation in 3-star hotel in the city of which the event will take place, tentatively Pune.
  5. 3 Meals of the day would be covered.
  6. Merchandise, Customized SWAG

We are aware of the risks and follow the proper procedure, our top-most priority is to keep you healthy and safe.

COVID-19 Effects on Training and Sessions?

Since it’s COVID-19, we’ll know its effects and how badly it can impact us, the first month of the training would be virtual,and then after seeing the situations we’d be calling the team members to our Makerspace while all the safety norms are being adhered.

What all would be COVID-19 Norms/ Precaution while you’re at Makerspace?

As General, you should firstly have Arogya Setu App installed in your Smartphones, A 14-day self-declaration about your health, thermal screening and social distancing would be a must for anyone who’d be at maker space. Everything would be disinfected by UV-C rays. Any other guidelines updated by the government will be applied ASAP
